PRIMERA PARTE (experiencia del sonido) 1. Magia del sonido: Through 14 speakers placed beneath acrylic domes you can hear different sounds from cultures around the world, dances, rituals, and ecosystems that relate to banners or images on the sides; these illustrate ecosystems across the five continents. 2. Sonido prenatal: In this room you can listen to original sounds produced inside the mother's womb, such as heartbeat, fluid, swallowing and sensations that stimulate fetal development. Through images and/or videos you can observe the fetus’s development over the nine months. 3. Laboratorio del sonido (Turbina 1/3): In the sound laboratory the operation of the auditory system and how it reaches the brain is shown. On vertical screens you learn about the function of the auditory system, from the outer ear to the middle and inner ear, to the brain where it is decoded. 4. Galería del sonido: Sounds and noises accompany us constantly in our lives. Humans perceive acoustic signals consciously and unconsciously. An infinite variety of sounds and noises from different sources and origins surrounds us daily at home, on the road, at school, at work, at concerts, in nature. In this room through objects such as drains, showers and metal cups with holes, we can identify and differentiate a countless number of sounds. 5. Polyphonium: Several fragments of musical pieces are offered in this space called Polyphonium, for example: Ode to Joy — Ludwig van Beethoven, Birdland — J. Zawinul, Bohemian Rhapsody — Queen, Hungarian Dances by Brahms, among others; where you can appreciate works of classical music, jazz, contemporary, etc. 6. Ciudad de Viena y pasillo de hologramas: This room transports us to the city of Vienna, the Austrian city on the banks of the Danube and home to the main musical stages, cultural centers where orchestras and concert musicians perform to share their art. The facades of Theater an der Wien or Vienna Theater, Staatsoper or Opera House, Wiener Musikverein or Vienna Music Club, Wiener Konzerthaus or Vienna Concert Hall and our mother house Haus der Musik or Casa de la Música are represented in this room. SEGUNDA PARTE (salas de compositores) 7. Joseph Haydn: To know in detail the life of this composer, you interact with biography screens and the music works monitor which sound the room to the rhythm of Haydn. 8. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: In this room the period when Mozart began composing his works stands out. 9. Ludwig van Beethoven: To know in detail the life of this composer, you interact with the screens that tell his biography and the monitor of musical works which sound the room in coordination with the piano to the rhythm of Beethoven. 10. Franz Peter Schubert: In this room you will find four guitars from the Olmedo collection, as Schubert liked to play the guitar as well. Through the four guitars we will see the evolution of this instrument. 11. Johannes Brahms and Anton Bruckner: In part of the room we find a gramophone, a device that played shellac discs and was a popular means to listen to musical recordings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You can also see a suitcase that was part of Brahms’s travel gear. 12. Johann Strauss and the Mexican Waltz: In this room you can play the so-called Dice of the Waltz (interactive); by rolling different combinations of numbers with the dice, a waltz is created. 13. Gustav Mahler and the Second Viennese School (Schonberg, Webern, Berg): Austrian composer and conductor trained at the Vienna Conservatory. Mahler claimed that his music would not be understood until fifty years after his death. Not without reason: valued in his time more as conductor than as a composer, today he is considered one of the greatest and most original symphonists in the history of the genre. At the start of the 20th century Vienna again topped the musical world, mainly with Arnold Schönberg and his pupils. By then the Second Viennese School— in opposition to the first which introduced musicology from 1780 to 1827. TER CERA PARTE 14. Director de Orquesta Virtual: Become a conductor for a day. The Kinect game gives visitors the opportunity to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic, with excerpts from works by classical Viennese composers. Equipped with a baton and facing the screen where the Philharmonic is, and a stand with the scores, the bold aspiring musician has the opportunity to be a renowned orchestra conductor. 15. Pasillo de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Viena: Along a corridor leading to the exit you can view two screens presenting the Vienna Philharmonic in some of its most popular concerts, such as the New Year’s Concert. On some acrylic-covered plaques in the floor there are milestones of important events and works in the history of music both in Mexico and around the world. 16. Salón de la Revolución Industrial: Machines from the former factory Constancia Mexicana that are there; they formed part of the most important history of the textile industry in Mexico and Latin America and this industry had great significance for Puebla residents, as it contributed to family and state economies for decades. 17. Virto stage: Interpret your own music and operatic experiences through your bodily movements. Move freely and experience how music, voice, and vision come together in a unique way.
