Includes a permanent exhibition room: Cocina Xalapeña (measuring 22.15 square meters). The Xalapeña kitchen presented here is the embodiment and memory of what kitchens looked like in the 17th century and the early 20th century; its central feature is a four-burner stove, the centerpiece used to display the various utensils and objects needed for its proper functioning and display.

Temporary exhibits include six exhibition rooms: Sala 1: The Veracruz–Mexico Route; Geography, Politics and Culture of Xalapa along the route, Xalapa on the political map. Sala 2: The Franciscans: the construction of convents in Xalapa, the founding of Xalapa, the Franciscan Order, the construction of the Franciscan Convent and the second Convent built in 1531. Sala 3: The altarpieces of the parishes of Señor del Calvario and Santiago ApĂłstol from the 17th century and photographs from the Veracruz State Art Museum (IVEC) collection of original works. Sala 4: Fragment of the plan of the Villa de Xalapa and a color map of Xalapa from 1869. Sala 5: A collection of old photographs from the Boone Canovas collection, The destruction of the Convent, The abandonment of the Convent, JuĂĄrez Park and the Victoria Hall. Sala 6: The orchards of the convents, The feeding of the Franciscan friars, and The acclimatization of plants in the New World. The CiudadEs room comprises five areas: What is a city?, The city and its people, City that changes, Sustainable city, and Intelligent city.
