Permanent Collections

Permanent

It has two permanent display halls: Sala Principal (sala 1) of 176.45 m²; it shows the cultural sequence of the eastern highlands region of Chiapas. In a schematic way, it represents the first hunter-gatherer occupations based on evidence recovered in the streets of Teopisca, Amatenango and Aguacatenango dated to 8000 BC. Preclassic period section and Classic period section; Sala Tenam Puente of 18.67 m²; objects denoting exchange with regions of the Gulf Coast and the Soconusco. Other materials, such as alabaster, were found as part of human burials.
