Permanent Collections
Permanent exhibits: It houses 13 permanent rooms and 1 gallery. Tour through the 13 permanent rooms reveals passages from the history of the Mexican Revolution, with emphasis on the constitutionalist period and Venustiano Carranzaâs life. The collection includes ambient settings, furniture, personal objects, documents and photographs. Ground floor includes modules identified as Antesala, Sala, Comedor, Cocina and VestĂbulo. Sala: features a luxurious gold-leaf parlor, a three-panel mirrored screen, a Carrara marble replica bust and a center table with Florentine medallions; Venustiano Carranzaâs remains were laid in state here. Comedor: features oak furniture and a pendulum clock with a gold and silver dial, Bavaria tableware and a bronze atlas sculpture. Upper floor includes modules identified as El Pasillo, RecĂĄmara Carranza, RecĂĄmara de la señorita Julia and RecĂĄmara del matrimonio Aguilar Carranza, as well as the three historic rooms: Salas histĂłricas. RecĂĄmara Carranza: intimate space with family photographs from Carranzaâs childhood, personal items, a travel trunk and a portrait of his favorite horses. RecĂĄmara de la señorita Julia: contains a dressing table with a mirror and a photograph of Carranzaâs eldest daughter; a brass tubular bed. In the library there are 833 volumes from the first head of the Constitutional Armyâs personal collection, including works on the history of Mexico and universal history. Salas histĂłricas: three spaces arranged from former bedrooms for visitors and a sewing room; in the first, identified as âCarranza el hombre,â photographs of various life stages, facsimile documents and a bronze bust with his image are shown. The second, âCarranza el polĂtico,â contains personal objects from his period as governor of Coahuila, the presidential sash he wore on May 1, 1917 and a photograph of his swearing-in as president. The third, âCarranza y la ConstituciĂłn,â shows documents from this period, including the 1913 Plan of Guadalupe, a faithful copy of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States and the pen with which he signed both documents.
