Tour: In the first room, original evidences of the agricultural communities settled along the banks of the Laja River (ca. 500 B.C.). In the second, reference to the era of the conquest of Tenochtitlán, when present-day Guanajuato was inhabited by the Chichimeca nations. The third room is devoted to creoles, among them José María Luis Mora. Finally, the Indigenous past of the town is noted, persisting in the street layout, in popular festivals and in the richness of traditions, especially crafts such as metalwork and molcajetes, tortilla pintaderas and basketry. The collection includes viceroyalty-era objects (textiles, a spinning wheel, paintings, books and documents) and archaeological items, both lithic and ceramic (anthropomorphic figurines, pots, polychrome bowls and obsidian knives).
