El recinto muestra piezas históricas sobre el Galeón de Manila, restos de una embarcación —fechada entre 1574 y 1576— encontrados en las costas del Pacífico de la península de Baja California, los cuales han sido estudiados, desde 1999, por un grupo interdisciplinario del INAH y de universidades estadounidenses.
Además de las exposiciones temporales e históricas, el museo cuenta con piezas exhibidas con juegos interactivos.
