En este espacio se expone exclusivamente obra plástica de destacados creadores mexicanos, como Diego Rivera, Carlos Mérida y María Izquierdo.
Salas temporales
En sus 11 salas temporales, que en total suman cinco mil metros cuadrados distribuidos en dos plantas, se expone lo más destacado de las artes visuales de México y América Latina.
El recinto museístico está acondicionado con mamparas y bases de madera o metal, vitrinas y capelos, en donde es colocada la obra de los artistas plásticos en exposición.
