Permanent exhibits include 8 rooms: Sala 1: Pre-Hispanic past in the Guanajuato Bajío region; it shows the presence of several ethnic groups settled near Celaya, mainly linked to Chupícuaro and influenced by exchange with other Mesoamerican groups in the central highlands and western Mexico. Sala 2: Coat of arms of the city of Celaya; it presents the importance and historical and iconographic meaning of Celaya's coat of arms, explaining its elements. Sala 3: Celaya during the Viceroyalty; exhibits testimonies that highlight Celaya's importance since its founding, as well as the social, commercial and cultural dynamics that characterized the regional social fabric. Sala 4: The population of Celaya and its neighborhoods; addresses characteristics of the city's population distribution, highlighting the importance of neighborhoods as sites of cultural identity that have proudly persisted to the present day. Sala 5: Celaya in the War of Independence; highlights events in Celaya and figures who participated in the Independence War in the early 19th century, including the stays of the priest Miguel Hidalgo and the creation of the first Independence Column in 1823. Sala 6: The architect of Celaya, Francisco Eduardo Tresguerras; dedicated to Francisco Eduardo Tresguerras, with objects that reflect his multifaceted artistic production; Reforma Laws and the Second Empire: a second part is dedicated to the state of Celaya in the second half of the 19th century as represented by Maximilian of Habsburg, the second Emperor of Mexico and by the republican government led by Benito Juårez. Sala 7: Celaya during the Porfiriato; presents a historical background where Celaya is a strategic place for the convergence of national projects; some figures of the era and the main infrastructure works built in the city during the Porfiriato, as well as everyday life objects. Sala 8: Celaya during the Mexican Revolution, battles of 1915; as part of the episodic events of the Mexican Revolution, the battles of Celaya occurred in April 1915 between Generals Álvaro Obregón and Doroteo Arango (Francisco Villa).
