Introduction
Explore the Chicxulub crater story through interactive exhibits, fossils, and hands-on displays illustrating a planet-changing event. The site is currently closed for remodeling, so plan to check the official site for reopening updates.

Sala 1. The Universe and the Moon. This room explains, with infographics, the formation of the universe, images of the planets and major constellations. On the Moon, it illustrates with a representation of a lunar module and infographics of the lunar phases and crater formation.<br>
Sala 2. Chicxulub Crater. Infographics with information about the impact of the asteroid, as well as images of magnetic anomalies of the state of Yucatán, showing the crater's diameter and depth.<br>
Sala 3. Impact Craters. Display of representative rocks from the state and from other parts of the world, a timeline infographic of Earth’s craters, a large interactive screen projecting videos of the impact, an interactive solar system map and a geological eras timeline.<br>
Sala 4. Extinction of dinosaurs. This room displays 16 to 20 fossil bones, skulls and footprints, infographics with the characteristics of each fossil and images showing where they come from.<br>
Sala 5 Biodiversity. Exhibit and representation of natural scenarios corresponding to different types of ecosystems, which include sculptures of animals representative of them.<br>
Sala 6 Rivers, lakes, oceans and mangroves. World maps of rivers and lakes, infographics about water capture indices, infographics of ocean currents, a giant screen projecting a marine reef, representation of a coral reef with species corresponding to it, a jellyfish sculpture, infographic about mangroves and the importance of their care.<br>
Sala 7. Biodiversidad de Yucatán. Infographics of flora and fauna of the state and information about its main ecological reserves.<br>
Sala 8. Manto acuífero del Yucatán. Representation of a cave with cenote audiovisual, infographics explaining the soil type characteristic of the state, formation of cenotes and the aquifer mantle of the state.<br>
Sala 9. Cultura maya. Infographics about Maya culture and its relation to cenotes, mapping of Maya house construction, videos about the Popol-Vuh and the Origin of Men according to Maya cosmogony.
