El museo consta de tres salas. La primera –supuestamente la habitación donde nació Felipe Carrillo Puerto- está dispuesta para dar la bienvenida a los visitantes mediante una breve explicación de lo que es Motul, su gente, su historia y su presente, con fotografías, productos elaborados en la comunidad y textos explicativos.
La segunda sala está dedicada a la vida del político Motuleño, sus estudios y preparación, su lucha política y su toma de posesión como gobernador de Yucatán. Este hecho está plasmado en una escultura monolítica en forma de libro abierto en el que aparece grabado, en lengua maya, el primer discurso que dirigió al pueblo, mismo que aparece traducido al español en una de las mamparas.
La última sala, con vitrinas, incluye algunos libros que gozaron de la preferencia de Carrillo Puerto y objetos personales como una brújula, un reloj de ferrocarrilero, una bitácora y prendas de vestir, entre otras cosas.
