El museo se conforma por tres salas: la primera está dedicada al esfuerzo. Muestra la lucha de los agraristas y la aportación de otras culturas como la china y alemana, sin soslayar a las comunidades de cazadores-recolectores. La segunda sala se orienta hacia la diversidad. Está compuesta por seis esculturas de hombres y mujeres rarámuri, menonitas y mestizos, que muestran la diversidad que caracteriza a la ciudad y la región.La tercera sala es sobre la cultura. Se orienta a describir –de una manera muy colorida– las manifestaciones artísticas actuales, compuestas por el trabajo de artistas originarios de la región.
