El Museo de las Rocas y los Minerales se divide en las áreas siguientes: la Entrada, la Veta Cantera, el Socavón La Esperanza, la Veta Buenavista, la Discoteca El Malacate, la Veta Piquete y la Veta San Juan Bautista. Por otra parte, algunas de las piezas y recintos imprescindibles para quien lo visita son: la Sala de los Fósiles, la Roca del Desierto, el Plano general de Quebradilla, las “Catedrales” de amatista, citrino y cuarzo, las Barras de selenita, el Meteorito y la Calcopirita o también llamado “oro de los tontos.
