Permanent Collections
Contains 10 permanent exhibition rooms: <br><br><li>Introducción y Paleontología (de 84.5 m²)</li> In this room the history of the first humans in Tlaxcala is addressed through fossils, migratory route maps and graphic reproductions. <br><br> <li>Mesoamérica (de 34 m²)</li> The concept of the cultural region is developed with maps, texts and didactic modules. <br><br> <li>Arqueología (de 102 m²)</li> Composed of archaeological objects that illustrate the presence of ancient societies in Tlaxcala, from the Middle Formative period (800 BC–100 AD) to Epiclásico (650–900 AD). <br><br> <li>Posclásico (de 36 m²)</li> Archaeological objects from the Late Postclassic period (1250–1519 AD) are exhibited. <br><br> <li>Contacto (de 40.5 m²)</li> Cultural goods and replicas that represent the political–military alliance established between the Spaniards and the Tlaxcaltecs. Some objects in this room include the Lienzo de Tlaxcala, armor and pike of a Spanish soldier and a banner of the Virgin Mary. <br><br> <li>Módulos Táctiles (de 75 m²)</li> There is an area designed to provide information about the contents of the permanent exhibition to people with disabilities (débiles visuales, ciegos, hipoacúsicos y sordos). <br><br> <li>Sala de San Antonio (de 131 m²)</li> Consists of ten large-format oils from the eighteenth century about the life of Saint Anthony of Padua, which served as examples of his virtues to members of the order in the convent. <br><br> <li>Sala de Historia Religiosa (de 45 m²)</li> The adoption of Christianity, religious constructions and the spread of Christianity are shown. <br><br> <li>Sala de Gobierno Indígena y Comercio (de 48 m²)</li> This room addresses the Indigenous council and Spanish government and displays oils by the four Tlaxcalan lords, a four-key chest, staffs of office, tools, weights and measures. <br><br> <li>Sala de Siglo XX (de 40 m²)</li> The room is devoted to Porfirian governance, the Revolution in Tlaxcala and the state’s railway networks.
