Este espacio conserva en su interior uno de los patrimonios culturales del estado más importantes del siglo XIX. Sus muros están decorados con aproximadamente 500 metros cuadrados de pinturas murales, con temas costumbristas del México de esa época, atribuidas a los artistas Jacobo Gálvez y Gerardo Suárez. Se trata de veinte temas desarrollados al óleo, los cuales muestran antiguas tradiciones como el jaripeo, el baile del jarabe, paseos por la ciudad de México y procesiones religiosas. Cuenta con siete salas permanentes y Es sede del Archivo Histórico de La Barca. Resguarda y exhibe documentos históricos de la ciudad y mobiliario de estilo francés.
