El recorrido comienza en la sala del Big Bang donde se habla del origen de la materia.El siguiente punto es la sala del meteorito donde se explica la historia de la tierra a través de evidencia fósil,
es posible admirar piedras de hasta 4500 millones de años que fueron traídas del Polo Norte o Australia. Llama la atención una esfera que a primera vista es igual a la Luna, pero en realidad es un modelo de cómo sería la tierra si no tuviera atmósfera.
El siguiente punto, y uno de los más llamativos es el túnel del tiempo, donde la mayoría se detiene para tomarse fotos, y que simboliza el paso de los primeros años de la tierra a la era de los dinosaurios.El recorrido continúa en la sala “Paséate con dinosaurios” en la que desde seis pantallas se narra la era en que vivieron esos reptiles gigantes y también su forma de vida. La quinta sala está dotada de pantallas, una de ellas en el techo, en las que se proyectan vídeos de la razón del museo: el impacto del meteorito en Chicxulub. Siguen las salas de campamento y de tesoros fósiles de México; pero el gran atractivo del recinto es la colección de dinosaurios mecatrónicos de la octava y última sala.
