Cinco salas permanentes temáticas: “Universo”, “Galaxias y la Vía Láctea”, “El Sistema Solar y Sistemas Planetarios”, “La Tierra” , “Los Meteoritos” y "Cabo Tuna". Todas las salas están dotadas de equipos interactivos en los que se proyectan diferentes temáticas relacionadas a la astronomía.
En la sala de usos múltiples la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí instaló una exposición sobre el proyecto: Cabo Tuna, en donde se presenta el cohete diseñado por investigadores de la universidad, que se lanzó a unos metros de este museo en el año 2018.
En el planetario se exhibe una película dedicada al mundo prehispánico y los avances de astronomía, con una duración de media hora, en donde niñas, niños, jóvenes y personas adultas podrán comprender la importancia de tuvo la astronomía en este mundo antes de la llegada de los españoles a México.
