The tour begins on the left. There you can see an animatronic Stegosaurus with sound and motion. This species lived in the late Jurassic period about 156 million years ago and is easily distinguished by the plates on its back. Next to it is a somewhat larger Triceratops. In the middle of the hall there is a large model representing a typical Jurassic landscape. Not all of the dinosaurs shown there lived in the same period; Tyrannosaurus rex, for example, appeared in the Cretaceous about 68 million years ago, unlike Brontosaurus or Stegosaurus, which did live in the Jurassic. Nevertheless, the museum fulfills its main function: to entertain children and adults who visit. Outside the museum there are also enormous dinosaurs — nearly 20 meters long each. They are concrete replicas of a Brontosaurus, a Diplodocus, and a Quetzalcoatlus, the largest flying dinosaur that existed — roughly the height of a giraffe — and the name comes from the god Quetzalcoatl. There is also a sandbox where children can play as paleontologists.
