Permanent Collections
As part of the museum's collection, in the first section you can appreciate each of the details and features of the old passenger station, built for Ferrocarril Mexicano. In the platform area you will find steam and diesel-electric locomotives, an English railcar, passenger service coaches, a sleeping car, a special car, freight wagons and an express car on which the photographic exhibitions are mounted. These facilities also house the Centro de DocumentaciĂłn e InvestigaciĂłn Ferroviarias; the unit responsible for safeguarding and preserving more than 40,000 volumes, 86,000 images, 2.5 kilometers of historical archives, 214,000 plans, maps and technical drawings about the history of railways in Mexico. It includes a services area and educational, scientific and cultural activities; where the library, the Ludoteca, the VagĂłn de la Ciencia, the VagĂłn de la Radio and the Bebeteca are located.
