El museo cuenta con dos pisos:
La planta baja mide: 102 m²
La planta alta mide: 76 m²
Cuenta con tres salas de exhibiciones permanentes:
1.- Sala de Banderas Patria y Libertad:
Una serie de 18 réplicas de las banderas que han representado a México, desde el primer estandarte que utilizó Miguel Hidalgo al inicio de la Guerra de Independencia.
2.- Exposición de arte Héroes fragmentos de la Patria del M. Arq. Carlos Sanabia Velázquez:
Una colección de 14 pinturas y 1 mural elaboradas en diferentes técnicas, que se describe como una colección dedicada al reconocimiento de los héroes que formaron nuestra patria (durante la Independencia y la Revolución); y que muestra a su vez, la lucha política, económica y social del país con perspectiva real, funcional, estética.
3.- Sala de documentos:
Nuestra historia en papel: es una recopilación de 59 documentos y objetos representativos de momentos claves de la historia del país: actas, tratados, libros, leyes, armas y artefactos, todos originales que datan de los siglos XIX y XX.
