Permanent Collections

Permanent

Permanent exhibits describe the prehistoric period of the Mexico Basin, hosting paleontological and lithic pieces, such as bones of animals and humans and stone tools found at the site. The theme centers on the prehistory of the Mexico Basin. It presents several hypotheses about the origin of life and of humans; a photomural shows mammoth hunting; a model establishes the dominant environment in the Late Pleistocene; and photographs document the fieldwork, laboratory, and cabinet work of INAH researchers. Visitors also have a geological time chart explaining the Earth's age and the different life forms that inhabit it, including humans capable of creating tools.
