Cuenta con nueve salas de exposiciones permanentes y dos espacios ambientados a la época: Valladolid y el Antiguo Obispado de Michoacán (de 38.19 m²) En este espacio se exponen piezas que remiten al antiguo obispado de Michoacán, Valladolid de Michoacán, y su arquitectura. La Casa de José María Morelos y Pavón (de 31.58 m²) En esta sala se aborda la casa de la familia de Morelos, la vida en la residencia y lo que pasó con este espacio después de la guerra de Independencia. Biográfica (de 31.67 m²) Se expone sobre José María Morelos, su carrera eclesiástica, descendencia y su etapa como cura de Carácuaro.
