En la primera sala se exhibe un mural con diversas fotografías que da la bienvenida al museo; son fotos contemporáneas contrastadas con el mismo lugar, sólo que del pasado. Es un recuento de la historia de la fotografía del siglo XVIII al siglo XXI, en Zacatlán. Asimismo, está expuesta la primera cámara fotográfica profesional que llegó a Zacatlán. La sala dos es una muestra de artesanía de habitantes de San Miguel Tenango y otras juntas auxiliares del municipio. La sala tres es un retrato del pasado de Zacatlán, con ropas, muebles, un piano y fotografías, del siglo XIX.
