Museum Exhibitions
Permanent Collections
The Fastlicht Master collection, donated by his son Jorge, also a dentist and teacher, includes valuable pieces from all stages of Mexican dentistry: archaeological pieces from Mesoamerican cultures, skulls with dental inlays of various stones such as turquoise, hematite, mother-of-pearl and jade. Artifacts used by the barber-surgeons of the viceregal era, instruments used by the French and North American dentists who arrived in the early 19th century, and a large number of pieces such as scales, gold crowns, articulators, dental prostheses, toothbrushes, forceps, syringes, laboratory equipment, medicines and many more items used by dentists in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The donation also included the publications of Master Fastlicht. To this base collection, many additional pieces were added: dental chairs, X-ray equipment, photographs, furniture, display cases, instruments and various small pieces donated by different collectors, all dentists, who throughout their life had acquired old objects, either by inheritance from a relative engaged in this profession, or were purchased at antique fairs.
