Se encuentra divida en tres secciones.
En su primera sala se exhibe un escudo nacional, el mismo que se empezó a utilizar en las monedas de 1823; una litografía de la batalla más importante de los insurgentes: la batalla del Monte de las Cruces; pantallas con imágenes de la vida cotidiana y pasajes de la época de la Independencia, así como un mapa que muestra cómo estaba conformada la Nueva España.
Otras pantallas ofrecen al público información sobre las campañas de don Miguel Hidalgo, las biografías de los principales caudillos de la Independencia y clasificación de las armas.
