Consta de 15 salas permanentes que exhiben pinturas y esculturas de artistas abstractos mexicanos y extranjeros. Se cuenta con una sala de arte abstracto de artistas zacatecanos. Entre las colecciones que resguarda se encuentran la Ruta de la amistad, con las obras realizadas por artistas de diversos países con motivo de la Olimpiada México 68; los Murales Osaka, encargados por don Fernando Gamboa para el pabellón de México en la Exposición Mundial Osaka 70, y la Colección antológica, de Manuel Felguérez, con obras que dan cuenta de las diversas etapas creativas del artista.
