Permanent exhibits: The MUNAL features a permanent collection titled Recorrido Histórico Artístico, composed of 33 rooms arranged chronologically from the 16th century to the mid-20th century. The objects on display are distributed across three sections: 1550-1821. Asimilación de Occidente (rooms 1–14); 1810-1910. Construcción de una nación (rooms 15–26); and 1910-1955. Estrategias plásticas para un México moderno (rooms 27–33). Additionally, visitors can explore six special rooms: rotating exhibitions; monothematic; collections; orientation; spring–summer and autumn–winter cycles; and printmaking and photography cabinets.
